We worked extensively with the BC Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation to receive approval for over-dimensional freight movement through the corridor from Stewart, BC on to the BC/Alberta border. On February 13, 2016, as a trial run, Mullen Trucking was on site at the Stewart World Port to receive cargo off the first ship to dock at this new port, the AAL Newcastle. The trial run was a success and we were granted approval to proceed with the project.
There were 7 Lots to arrive at the Stewart World Port, each with multiple Process Units in varying sizes and weights. Over the next several months, and through many joint collaborations, we successfully delivered Process Units to Redwater, AB. This was not without its challenges however. There were last minute changes, narrow bridges and wildlife to contend with; as well, all travel through BC was limited to night time hours with all sorts of weather conditions!
The following are excerpts taken from a letter written by the customer to Mullen Trucking:
“Safety is the most important part of our day to day activities and I am proud to say that Mullen completed this scope, consisting of over 22,000 man hours and 1,100,000 kms travelled, without incident! Congratulations on that success….This level of achievement shows an unparalleled commitment from all parties! Thank you.
“Lastly, and certainly not least, please pass on our appreciation to your field crews! Without their hard work and dedication, this successful execution would not have been possible. To perform this, and do so safely, shows their level of commitment to your excellent safety culture. They were always professional and consistently showed their commitment to safety first and schedule second. This significant accomplishment should also be commended!”
